Institute for Advanced Study

The mission of the Notre Dame Institute for Advanced Study is to advance our understanding of issues that combine the descriptive and normative, what is and what ought to be, and that explore “ultimate questions” in an interdisciplinary way. Within this broader rubric of normative and integrative research, we invite a wide range of studies that explore the modernities, traditions, and sciences that inform our contemporary world.
The Institute welcomes applications from faculty and scholars in all disciplines, including the arts, engineering, the humanities, and the social, life, and physical sciences with projects that are creative, innovative, or align with the intellectual orientation of the Notre Dame Institute for Advanced Study.
Latest News: December 1, 2009, is the deadline for applications to residential and graduate student fellowships!
